Parish Overview

Our parish geographically covers  Bushey,  Bushey Heath and Oxhey

It includes a large area of MOD housing, which is home to many NATO families, many of which are from overseas and are Catholics, Sacred Heart being their spiritual home whilst they are here, and they add to our rich diversity.

We are blessed with an excellent musical tradition, ranging from guitar led worship to full choir and organ together with various instruments, most of which are played by our young people.

A particular blessing is our infant and junior school, which does much to enrich the parish in so many ways. Many of its students go on to Catholic Secondary schools, with which we have a close working relationship.

First Communion preparation is carried out on Saturday mornings led by our team of Catechists.  Confirmation preparation is held on a weekday evening and includes a weekend retreat at SPEC based in nearby London Colney.

Worship at Sacred Heart is modern and relaxed, Saturday Vigil Mass being structured for young people, and the Sunday 10.30 Mass having its own young peoples Liturgy which is held in the adjacent Parish Centre.

Of particular note is our beautiful Garden of Rest at the rear of the church building, where all are welcome to rest a while, silent prayer or just to be there.

We are a parish which hopes to engage all who seek to find God in their lives, and as such our RCIA team are always available to help you on your personal journey of Faith.

Our other activities include Over 60’s group, Youth Club (Yr 6 upwards) SVP, Bridge Club, At Your Word Lord house groups, Bushey & Oxhey Care, Bethany Support group, Justice  & Peace,

So if you feel that you would like to share your journey of Faith within the Sacred Heart community, please come along and find out more, you will be most welcome.

Live life to the full, where you have questions, ask them; where you have answers share them

And may your gracious God meet you in the embrace of peace and joy. Amen
